Brooksource is looking for a python developer to join our enterprise healthcare client working on an Microsoft Azure Spark Migration Project! This is an awesome opportunity to learn modern technologies, and add tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, Azure PaaS, and Azure Databricks to your toolbelt! This individual will work with an architect and 1 or 2 other software developers to help build out a data platform on top of Azure PaaS services and Apache Spark.
Skill Preference (in order of importance)
The bulk of our framework and development platform will be built using python and python tooling. Having a background working in a software developer capacity on python projects (large or small) will be beneficial to our team. Some experience around python application lifecycles would be preferred (packaging, versioning, deploying, etc.)
While this project will primarily be operating in the data space, we plan to utilize many software development practices and tools traditionally found in the application development space. Having a background in working on a team focused on delivering a line of business, or consumer facing application will be beneficial. Some experience working with unit testing, continuous integration, infrastructure as code and source control is preferred.
Having some level of experience working in Azure will be beneficial. This person will not be expected to be an expert on Azure however knowing the basics of creating resources in Azure, navigating the portal and managing costs will be helpful.
Exposure to Hadoop
This project will be built on top of Apache Spark - so some exposure to the Hadoop ecosystem would be beneficial. This is not critical, this person will not be expected to be an expert on anything in this space but will be expected to learn.
Exposure to Azure Databricks
This project will be utilizing Azure Databricks, some exposure here will obviously be beneficial.
