1 Position is 100% Remote
3. Resource will be paid as a W-2 employee by the staffing supplier.

JOB SUMMARY:
The long term strategy for the data groups is to transition from older mainframe data tools to the more modern Python programming language.
This transition would create a data environment that is unified from a tool perspective, supported by skill sets that are plentiful and easy to procure, and is easily able to transition to a cloud environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES;
This contractor is intended to fill the knowledge gap between Python and our mainframe systems.
They will create Python code that will allow our data teams to pull data from our mainframe systems, replacing the aging tools we have today.
That code can then be replicated and used by all of our data teams as a fundamental building block of all of our data work.
Finally, if time allows, we would like to try taking an existing mainframe job and transition it to Python.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with data manipulation and mainframe interfaces strongly preferred.
Ability to research and implement new Python applications is required.
Ability to quickly integrate into a team of high performing individuals.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.

Experience Requirement:
At least 3 years of experience using Python.

Education requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.
